Long ago I had this issue and got this answer at that time:
This doesn't work anymore and also all the Google Cloud Platform interface has changed.
Can someone please help?

Did you try regenerating that existing API key? You can find that option by opening your project in the Google Cloud Console, opening the menu from the top left and selecting APIs & Services > Credentials. Then select your existing Browser key to view it's properties. At the top of that page you'll see a link labeled "REGENERATE KEY". You can then try using that new API Key. (make sure it's a browser key with key restriction set to "None".

However If you're creating a new project/app, you'll want to use the following instructions instead:

The previous instructions pertained to a previously created key.

    Hi Darryl,

I finally found how to regenerate it thru Firebase.
Seems like there's duplication of both Google Cloud Console and Firebase.
    Anyhow it works.
